Prepare for your ski adventure by stopping at the local shops in Kalavrita, where you can find all the necessary equipment. Alternatively, you can also grab your gear at the resort itself upon your arrival. Standing at an impressive 1,700 meters, the ski resort’s base boasts ticket offices conveniently located near the parking lot. For those looking to take lessons, you’ll find ski and snowboard schools located side by side, including 4 Seasons Outdoor, Altitude Snow Sports School, and RTM Helmos Ski School.

Don’t worry about leaving the little ones behind, as these schools also offer lessons for children. And for those looking to brush up on their skills, the Leto learning slope is just a short distance away.

When you’re all set, make your way to the lifts and hit the slopes. Keep in mind that on weekends, when the crowds are at their peak, there may be a bit of a wait on the queue. Be patient and keep an eye out for the proper lift, Daphne. This lift will take you to a variety of tracks, including the easier ones such as Harmonia, Phaedra, and Ariadne. For a smooth and gentle run, we suggest starting with the Harmonia track. It’s like cruising down a well-paved road on your skis.

So, welcome to a charming destination filled with traditional stone houses, quaint squares, charming walkways, and idyllic cafes and taverns shaded by majestic plane trees. One of the city’s famous features is the impressive cogwheel, which was unveiled in 1896 and traverses the 22 km journey from Kalavrita to Diakopto. This picturesque route follows the breathtaking Vouraikos Gorge and ends at the stunning Corinthian Gulf, earning its reputation as one of the most exquisite train journeys in all of Greece. Marvel at how seamlessly the “train” of Vouraikos blends into its surroundings, without causing any harm to the ecosystem of the gorge. It almost appears as if it was a natural creation of the landscape itself!

In order to enjoy a satisfying lunch during our trip, it will be necessary for you to make time in your schedule. Lucky for you, there are two great options available. You can grab a quick meal at the Kalavrita chalet located within the ski resort, or opt for a more leisurely experience at a taverna in Kalavrita village. Once we have finished our delicious meal, we will make our way back to Athens following the same route.
