European Best Destinations | Athens the second best destination in Europe in 2020!

Athens was voted the second best destination in Europe by the European Best Destinations platform for promoting tourism in Europe. Athens received 104,639 votes, out of a total of more than 600,000. The first best destination was the city of Colmar, France, in the Alsace region. Located between Strasbourg and Mulhouse received 179,723 votes. Tbilisi was voted in third place, followed by the cities in the first twenty:

The cities, voted the best in Europe, are promoted by European Best Destinations in international media and social media, enhancing their tourist image. The vote was held for the 11th year in cooperation of the organization and with the largest European travel agencies. The European Best Destinations platform was developed to promote culture and tourism in Europe. Since 2009 it has partnered with major tourism agencies in Europe to reward and promote the most popular destinations, covering already 300 destinations on the continent with impressive photos and videos.
