Corinth Canal
The tour starts from Athens early in the morning. We will be driving along the lovely and picturesque coastal road towards Corinth.
The first highlight of our tour is the Isthmus of Corinth and Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal is an impressive man-made canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. The Canal is 6.4 kilometers (4 miles) long. Construction began in 1881, but was hampered by geological and financial problems and was not completed until 1893. However, the idea of a shortcut to save boats from sailing around the Peloponnese peninsula dates back over 2000 years.
We will have a short stop here for pictures and we will continue towards Ancient Corinth.
Ancient Corinth
In the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, you will see the unearthed agora, shops of ancient times, and a variety of interesting structures of antiquity.
The city of Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC.
The Archaeological Museum of Corinth is also a must-see since it houses some astounding pieces from ancient times, dating back to the 5th century AD, as well as some impressive artifacts and statues from the Roman times, such as the gorgeous Lucius statue.
Mycenae
Our next stop will be Mycenae, which is one of the definite highlights of this full-day private tour. Mycenae was a fortified late Bronze Age city and the center of the Mycenaean civilization between 1600-1100 BC.
Mycenae was the birthplace of the Mycenaean civilization and its archaeological site proves the importance and grandeur that this city-state used to have in Ancient Greece. The gigantic Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the impressive arched Royal Tombs will stay in your memory for a long time! The Lion’s Gate is the main entrance to the Bronze Age citadel of Mycenae, erected around 1250 BC.
In Mycenae, we will also enjoy our lunch in the countryside.
Nafplion
After lunch, the private tour will continue towards Nafplion, the lovely Venetian town of Argolis Prefecture that used to be the first capital city of modern Greece in the 19th century. Nafplion was an important seaport held under a succession of royal houses in the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia.
We will have the time to see the imposing fortress of Palamidi that stands above the town and enjoy a nice, leisurely walk in the streets of the town, where you can see the authentic old houses of the town, but also an impressive variety of local shops that sell all kinds of handmade objects and jewelry.
After visiting Nafplion the full-day private tour ends, thus we will be returning back to Athens late in the afternoon. Overnight in Athens.
Delphi, the navel of the universe!
On this day we will travel from your hotel in North Greece until we get to Kastro before heading off to Arachova and Delphi which is the most renowned and significant oracle globally. After Arachova, the tour will take you to Delphi, the ancient sanctuary of Apollo. Our private tour includes a visit to the Delphi Museum where you can see among others the archaeological treasures of the ancient oracle, the unique bronze Charioteer, and the sacred way to the Athenian treasury. Next visit the temple of Athens Pronea, the Gymnasium, and the Castalia Spring!
After our visit to the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi, we will enjoy a tasteful lunch in Delphi. We will continue our private tour driving through the towns of Arachova, Theves, and Levadia.
We will drive through the Central Greece plain, the granary of Greece, to reach Athens late in the afternoon, where we will spend the night.

- Upon booking, an electronic voucher will be emailed to you containing our contact information, tour details, and all necessary instructions. This voucher serves as your ticket and proof of purchase. Please present a printed or digital copy of the voucher on the day of your tour to redeem your activity.
- City Tax for Hotel Stays: Effective from January 1st, 2018, a City Tax for hotel overnights is applicable and not included in our excursion rates. Clients will need to pay this tax directly at their hotel upon check-out. The amount per room is as follows: 5-star hotel: €4/overnight || 4-star hotel: €3/overnight || 3-star hotel: €1.50/overnight
- Opening Hours and Entrance Fees for Archaeological Sites and Museums in Greece
- Entrance Fees for Children from Non-EU Countries: Starting November 1st, 2019, children aged 6 and above from non-European Union (non-EU) countries will be required to pay the full entrance fee for Museums and Archaeological sites. For children from EU countries, the existing rates remain in effect. However, it is crucial to have their passports readily available to prove their nationality.
