A trip to Athens is a passage through centuries to a historical capital of Europe. It is the birthplace of democracy, arts, science and philosophy of the western world. Here we have such great Greek personalities as Plato, Socrates, Pericles, Euripides, Sophokles, Aeschylus. The city of Athens is one of the oldest in the world with a documented history of over 2,700 years and has been continuously inhabited since the 11th millennium BC.

The contemporary urban scenery of the sprawling city reflects its exciting history, the multi- cultural modern personality of the city and the infrastructural and facility developments which have been done in the past in the middle of the Parthenon today.

Corfu the Queen of the Ionian Islands! From family vacations to romantic getaways, Corfu is the perfect place to combine history, myths, culture, modern life, and the amazing landscape with the Ionian turquoise waters! Even though the island of Corfu might be different now, the spirit of a long-past grandeur remains intact for tourists visiting it nowadays. This is because for many generations it has been a melting pot for various cultural influences which has resulted in a combination of historical landmarks and biodiversity amongst others making one wonder why such a small island off the coast of Greece can be home to so much beauty that people flock there all year round.

Unlike other parts of Greece, Corfu was never colonized by the Ottoman Empire. Dominations by the Venetians, French and British in turn for centuries has made the island part of the western rather than levant worlds. They were influential in the city as their culture made an impact; the first Greek University – the Ionian Academy and also, the first Philharmonic Orchestra and the First School of Fine Arts were founded here. As such, it will be such that Corfu, through its historic monuments, rich multi-cultural heritage and striking natural landscape, will wrap its magic around you

Delphi: Delve into Delphi’s Charm

Have you ever wondered about the ancient Oracle of Delphi and its mysterious prophecies that shaped the course of history? The Oracle of Delphi, also known as the Pythia, was a powerful priestess who served as a conduit for the Greek god Apollo, providing wisdom and guidance to those who sought her counsel.

According to Greek mythology, the Oracle of Delphi was established by Apollo himself at the sacred site of Delphi in central Greece. It was believed that the Pythia would enter a trance-like state and communicate the god’s messages to those who came to seek her advice. The prophecies were often cryptic and open to interpretation, leaving many to ponder their true meanings.

The Oracle of Delphi held immense power and influence in the ancient world. Kings, generals, and statesmen would consult the Pythia before making important decisions, believing her prophecies could foretell the outcome of battles, political disputes, and personal matters. The Oracle’s pronouncements were highly respected and often acted upon with great significance. The ruins of temples, treasuries, and theaters evoke a sense of awe and wonder, inviting visitors to explore the remnants of a civilization long gone. The most iconic landmark in Delphi is the Temple of Apollo, where the Oracle sat upon a tripod and uttered her enigmatic prophecies. Do not miss the museum, the temple of Athens pronea, Castalia springs, and the stadium of Delphi. Drive back to Athens and overnight.

The Triumph of Achilles:

The masterpiece painting of Achilles in the Achillion Palace, a painting by Franz Matsch! The significance of the painting: Matsch’s painting captures when Achilles Triumphant and Hector kills aftermath. Art historians have cited several unique elements of this artwork among them the portrayal of Apollo holding Hector’s corpse representing the ancient Greek belief in his role as protector of the dead. As well, the portrait’s commissioner Empress Sissy Elizabeth was very much interested in Achilles’ youthful beauty. Additionally, through the use of shadow and light in the painting, he managed an effect that created an impression of a horse jumping off its platform.

Franz Matsch and His Tragic Fate

Matsch’s death is as mysterious as his painting Triumph of Achille. He was a famous artist; therefore, his death must have mattered to many people before being shrouded in secrecy. However, people are still in the dark regarding what actually happened. For example, it is believed that there are some who think he made an error on that particular piece since the weel of the car it is standing still whereas it should be running. Some individuals suggest that Matsch might have been in grief as well as having mental problems because of the loss of his wife. This adds a third layer of mystery to the story-the idea that his competitors in the art industry within Vienna were plotting against him.
