The first day of the tour is a rather busy day, so make sure you become an early riser. Departure from Athens is set early in the morning, heading towards Corinth. An hour and a half later you will be standing at one of the greatest sceneries in Greece, the Corinth Canal, which offers breathtaking views of the sea and the borders of the Peloponnese Peninsula.

Welcome to Epidaurus, a charming village boasting the most pristine and awe-inspiring ancient theatre in all of Greece. Its acoustics are renowned and the summer theatrical festival is a lively must-see. Discover the magic of ancient Greece with a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Epidaurus Theatre. Prepare to be captivated by the rich history and vibrant energy of this renowned landmark. Don’t miss your chance to immerse yourself in the wonder of this unforgettable Greek gem.

Our journey then takes us to the modern town of Nafplion, a stunning destination with a delightful atmosphere. Situated by the sea, Nafplion delights with its vibrant streets, vibrant colors, and stunning architecture. Revised: With its stunning scenery and captivating charm, Nafplio is widely regarded as one of the most enchanting towns in the Argolis region of eastern Peloponnese, and holds a special place as one of the most romantic cities in all of Greece. Fittingly, it was also the very first capital of the newly independent Greek state from 1823 to 1834. According to myth, Nafplio was founded by Nafplios, the son of the god Poseidon and the daughter of Danaus, Anymone of the Danaida family.

This town boasts a rich history that dates back to the prehistoric era, with its brave soldiers taking part in both the Argonautic expedition and the Trojan War. While it declined during the Roman era, Nafplio saw a revival during the Byzantine period. Over the centuries, the town has been shaped by various conquerors, including the Franks, Venetians, and Turks.Just remember to savor every moment here, as our tour soon continues towards the captivating ruins of Mycenae.

Continuing our trip in history, we will be heading towards Mycenae, the most significant city-state of the Bronze Age. Step into the Myth’s footsteps with ease and excitement! Embarking on a journey through the legendary tales of mythology, one cannot help but be captured by the tranquil beauty of Argolida. Nestled deep within its soil lies a civilization that is hailed as one of the greatest in history: the Mycenaean civilization. And at the heart of it all sits Mycenae, the storied city ruled by the famed Agamemnon. It was here that King Agamemnon decided to gather all Greeks and start the Trojan War to recover Helen. Of course, what remains today are the gigantic Cyclopean Walls of the city, parts of the palace, and the Royal Tombs.

After our exciting time exploring Mycenae, the tour will continue on to Olympia where we will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Olympia – Athens

A voyage to where the Olympic Games originated is about to commence! The western region of Peloponnese is known as the “valley of the gods” and holds great significance in ancient Greece. Ancient Olympia, nestled within this valley, rose to fame as the most revered sacred site and the birthplace of the renowned Olympic Games. These games, which began in 776 B.C., brought together all Greeks from across the known world every four years. The spirit of sportsmanship transcended hostilities, allowing everyone to participate in this momentous event. Even to this day, Olympia remains a highly esteemed destination, a renowned landmark that holds global recognition.

As you awaken in Olympia, the very location where the Olympic Games were first born, the excitement of the day fills your senses. However, the true highlight has yet to be experienced. The tour takes you on a journey to the ancient city of Elis, where the foundation of the Olympic Games can still be seen today. Here, you can witness the infamous racing track, where athletes once competed for glory, as well as the sacred spot where the Olympic Flame ignites every four years. Immerse yourself in the rich history and cherished memories as you explore the Olympic Museum and the Archaeological Museum of Olympia.

After a productive morning and a scrumptious lunch break in Olympia, it’s time to make your way back to Athens and arrive in the late afternoon.
