The four-day private tour will start from Athens in the morning; after a 1-hour drive along the Saronic Gulf, you will reach the Corinth Canal, which offers you breathtaking views of the sea. It’s a fascinating waterway connecting two seas in a truly awe-inspiring manner.
The Corinth Canal, completed in 1893, is a 6.4-kilometer-long and 21.4-meter-wide canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. After a short stop for some – gorgeous – pictures, we will head towards Ancient Corinth, with its magnificent remains.
Ancient Corinth
Our knowledgeable driver will guide us towards ancient Corinth, where we will have the opportunity to marvel at the gems of the city. Ancient Corinth, a bustling city-state in its heyday and a center of trade and culture. Walk in the footsteps of ancient Greeks as you explore the ruins of temples, theaters, and marketplaces. Marvel at the intricate mosaics and statues that offer a glimpse into daily life in this once-thriving city. Don’t forget to visit the Acrocorinth, a fortified hill offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
St Paul lived and preached in Corinth for two years, but Corinth has lots more to show since it was one of the most important city-states in ancient Greece. The Temple of God Apollo, the ancient port of Kechrae, and the ancient agora are just some of the places we will be visiting.
Following lunch, the exclusive tour will proceed to the charming town of Nafplion, once the initial capital of Modern Greece.
Nafplion, the charming seaside town
During your private tour, you’ll be immersed in the beautiful town of Nafplion, once a significant capital of Greece. Enjoy a lovely lunch and stroll along the charming cobblestone streets filled with unique shops and a stunning seaside walkway. Take in the amazing view of the impressive fortress of Mpourtzi and the nearby sites of the city.
During the period of 1821 to 1834, Nafplion played a vital role as the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and the Kingdom of Greece. As you explore the town, your tour will lead you to the magnificent Acronafplia fortress, offering breathtaking views of Nafplion, Palamidi fortress, Mpourtzi fortress, and the stunning beauty of the Argolic Gulf.
Evening at leisure. Accommodation is arranged in Nafplion for the evening.
The second day of the tour will begin in Nafplion and then we will head to Sparta.
Sparta is famous for King Leonidas and his small army of 300 men who bravely faced off against thousands of Persians at Thermopylae.
Although Sparta is a modern city now, it still retains remnants of its ancient glory. During the tour, you will visit the archaeological museum, the Museum of Olive, the statue of King Leonidas, the Temple of Goddess Artemis, and the impressive fortified town of Mystras.
Mystras is a UNESCO protected site that is a fortified settlement from the Byzantine era, showcasing beautiful Byzantine churches and structures from that time period. Free evening. We will be staying overnight in Sparta.
The third day of our tour will begin with an exciting stop at the intriguing cave of Diros.

Unraveling the Secrets of Diros Cave. Diros Cave, also known as Vlychada Cave, is a network of underwater caves that stretches for over 3,500 meters, making it one of the longest cave systems in Europe. The cave was formed millions of years ago through the slow erosion of limestone rocks by underground rivers, creating a labyrinth of stunning stalactites and stalagmites that adorn the cave’s chambers.
One of the most unique features of Diros Cave is its underground river, which flows through the caverns, creating a magical underground world that is both enchanting and mysterious. Visitors can explore the cave by boat, gliding through the crystal-clear waters and marveling at the intricate rock formations that have been sculpted by nature over millennia. Once you finish your amazing visit to the cave of Diros, we’ll be making our way to Monemvasia, the historic castle city in Greece.

On the fourth day of the tour, prepare to be awestruck as we journey to the magnificent castle city of Monemvasia.
Nestled on the southeastern coast of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, lies the picturesque town of Monemvasia. This hidden gem is a place where history and natural beauty converge, offering visitors a truly unique and enchanting experience. Monemvasia, often referred to as the “Gibraltar of the East,” is a fortified medieval town that dates back to the 6th century. Its name, which translates to “single entrance,” perfectly encapsulates its unique geography. The town is built on a massive rock that juts out into the sea, connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. The town’s well-preserved Byzantine architecture, churches, and mansions offer a glimpse into its rich history as a major trading hub during the Middle Ages.
Embracing Natural Beauty. Beyond its historical significance, Monemvasia is also a haven for nature lovers. The town is surrounded by crystal-clear waters, rugged cliffs, and lush landscapes, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can explore hidden coves, go hiking along scenic trails, or simply relax on one of the town’s pristine beaches.
No visit to Monemvasia would be complete without indulging in the local culinary delights. The town is renowned for its fresh seafood, traditional Greek dishes, and world-class wines. Be sure to sample local specialties like “gyros,” “souvlaki,” and “pastitsio” at one of the charming tavernas or cafes scattered throughout the town.
As the day draws to a close, our Classical Greece tour concludes with our return to Athens. You’ll have the option to be dropped off at your hotel or another preferred location in the late afternoon.

- City Tax for Hotel Stays: Effective from January 1st, 2018, a City Tax for hotel overnights is applicable and not included in our excursion rates. Clients will need to pay this tax directly at their hotel upon check-out. The amount per room is as follows: 5-star hotel: €4/overnight || 4-star hotel: €3/overnight || 3-star hotel: €1.50/overnight
- Opening Hours and Entrance Fees for Archaeological Sites and Museums in Greece
- Entrance Fees for Children from Non-EU Countries: Starting November 1st, 2019, children aged 6 and above from non-European Union (non-EU) countries will be required to pay the full entrance fee for Museums and Archaeological sites. For children from EU countries, the existing rates remain in effect. However, it is crucial to have their passports readily available to prove their nationality.
