After exploring the Acropolis, the next stop on the tour will be Plaka, a charming and quaint neighborhood in Athens where St. Paul himself once walked and engaged with his followers in the Ancient Agora.

According to historical records, St. Paul spent much of his day in the agora, eagerly interacting with locals, sharing ideas, and spreading the message of his new faith. This bustling hub was a pivotal location during St. Paul’s time in Athens, leaving an enduring impact on both the city and his journey through Greece.

During the comprehensive one-day private tour, you’ll have the chance to take in the breathtaking views of Athens from Lycabettus Hill.

After that, indulge in a delicious traditional Greek lunch before making your way to the significant city of Corinth.

Corinth

As you journey along the picturesque coastal road of Athens and Attica, you will eventually arrive at the spectacular Corinth Canal after about an hour of driving. Pause for a brief moment to capture some breathtaking photos of the mesmerizing scenery. Next, venture on to Ancient Corinth – a significant city-state in ancient Greece that played a pivotal role in St. Paul’s travels in the country.

During his time in Ancient Corinth , the Apostle Paul spent a remarkable 18 months passionately preaching to both Jews and Gentiles. This bustling site is adorned by the imposing Acropolis, where the remains of the Temple of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, can still be seen. In this bustling city, Paul joined forces with Aquila and Priscilla to form a vibrant community, though not without facing his fair share of challenges which led to him penning at least four impassioned letters. Iconically, it was here in Corinth’s agora that Paul faced a trial under Gallio (Acts 18:12-17).

And it was also from this vibrant city that he wrote letters to the Thessalonians, cementing his legacy as a prolific writer. As we celebrate our liturgy today in Corinth, let us reflect on the impactful and transformative journey of Paul the Missionary.

Get ready to step into history as we journey to the ruins of Cechrae or Kechrae, the harbor where St. Paul began his voyage to Ephesus (Acts 18:18). Witness the remnants of the ancient agora, the awe-inspiring Temple of God Apollo, and the historic port of Kechrae, where St. Paul first arrived to spread his message in Corinth. Kechrae also holds significance for being the site of a prominent church established by St. Paul before continuing on to Ephesus. Our full-day Christian tour will conclude in the late afternoon, as we make our way back to Athens following the same path.
